The society of the Han can be described as highly structured and clearly defined. It consisted of three social classes. Aristocrats were at the top, followed by the middle class which consisted of skilled workers and farmers, and the lowest class was unskilled workers and slaves. The emperor was always at the very top, higher than the aristocrats. But towards the end of the Han Dynasty, the social structure was less defined and other social classes were gaining power.
